THE WIP

Now, now. It’s not what you think. I mean, if you read wip and your mind went to an image of a sexy woman cracking a whip, or rough and tumble cowboys… Hey, you say whip and I think lion tamer. No judgment here. But take out the H and we are talking about the latest WORK IN PROGRESS. Yep. Where I sit that is a painfully long conversation. I’ve been playing with this WIP far too long. By my best guess, it’s been six years since the first 30,000 words flew onto the page. Wow. I just said that out loud and a little piece of my confidence took a whipping. (See what I did there?)

But, hey. Good things come to those who wait. At least to the people who don’t mind lines. And GET COZY is full of lines. And words. Like 100,000?? I KNOW. It’s dark and it’s complicated and it’s real and it’s… well. let me climb on the milk crate and adjust my halo light.

GET COZY takes a satirical look at the changing world of publishing, where Jennifer Feingold, a frustrated but fiercely ambitious editor longing for the return of her glory days comes to believe that killing off the competition will pave the way for her debut author, launching his career and reviving her own.

Well, I may have lied when I said I would be posting blurbs and teasers from the book here, along with news of its progress, but what I did instead was finish that bad boy and…. then went ahead and wrote another book, working title: BAD FAITH. And boy, is that a different kind of story. I am eager to get that out into the world…. and yet,I took another detour revisisting my roots in the short story, and deciding to teach myself some new crafts- like poetry and art.

Poems have been appearing in small places and as soon as I get the courage to submit, in big places.

The art… well, that’s as weird and wonderful as me and that’s saying a lot. My mixed media sculptures were juried into the two shows I entered at two fantastic Arts Centers: Blue Ridge, GA in 2024 and Alpharetta, GA in 2025.

This website is expanding to feature all things Linda, so stay tuned and stay happy.
